$700M Equifax Lawsuit! Are You Eligible to Participate?

The Settlement received final approval from the Court on January 13, 2020. You may review the Final Approval Order and Final Order and Judgment by clicking here.

Settlement appeals have been resolved and the Settlement is now effective. Per the terms of the Settlement, claimants who submitted a valid claim for credit monitoring services were sent an email or letter by mail providing information on how to activate credit monitoring services with Experian. If you did not do so by the deadline provided in the email or letter, the time to activate Experian Credit Monitoring Services has now passed.

Settlement benefits for eligible out-of-pocket losses and time spent began to be issued in mid-December 2022.


Extended Claims Period claims for time spent and out-of-pocket losses are under review. You will be contacted if additional information is needed regarding your claim(s).

You may remember a few years back when Equifax announced a data breach in September of 2017 where 147 million people’s consumer information was stolen.

A federal court approved a class action settlement that resolves Equifax lawsuits brought by consumers for $700M after the data breach.

As of today, no wrongdoing has been found and no action has been taken.

How to File a Claim in the Equifax Lawsuit!

However, no settlement benefits will be distributed, are made available, until the settlement becomes effective.

The Settlement will become effective after all appeals have been resolved in favor of the Settlement. You can find out more information here.

Extended Claims Period Claims

If the Equifax breach impacted your information. You can seek reimbursement for valid out-of-pocket losses or Time Spent (excluding losses of money, etc.) during the extended claims period.
